Two new photo sets: Easter and BMX Riding

We had a lovely Easter at home this year. Joanna has been teaching non-stop and we had over two months of full weekends, so it was nice to garden and otherwise do nothing. The kids had a great Easter morning, as well as prior Easter egg making, and then we had the Pelletier crew over for dinner. During the week, we also had an outdoor Easter egg hunt with a bunch of the kids' friends. See all the Easter pictures here.

Galen has also joined Inflow, the local BMX and boarding club.  Contrary to expectations, he is favouring BMX riding over skateboarding.  See some photos here.

Shout out to the CBC

As the Canadian Broadcast Corporation is having some funding difficulties, I thought I would post my moral support.  When we lived in the US, I was a big fan of National Public Radio and I still listen to a number of their programs via podcast.  Outside of their excellence in news reporting, NPR is particularly good a funny shows, the best being Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me and Car Talk.  What NPR lacks is great radio drama in the BBC tradition.  This is where CBC Radio comes in.  My two favourites are Afghanada and Monsoon House.  Afghanada is a radio drama centered on four Canadian soldiers serving in Kandahar Province, where the fight with the Taliban is its fiercest.  The show is uncanny in being current and presenting the moral and practical complications of the war that we the electorate should be thinking about.  Monsoon House is a hilarious look at the Canadian publishing business from the point of view of an Indo-Canadian family business.  This show frequently has me in tears laughing.  Another show of note is The Age of Persuasion, a remarkably interesting and funny series about the history and practices of marketing.  Lastly, despite Billy Bob's recent surreal appearance, the Q remains one of the best shows on culture and the arts.

After the immunization shot...
